In force today
| Fact | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Latest tranche in force since | 1 June 2026 | STATEC, 2026-05-29 |
| Increase applied | +2.5% on salaries, wages and pensions | STATEC, 2026-05-29 |
| Index point (cote d'application) | 992.24 points (previously 968.04) | STATEC, 2026-05-29 |
| What triggered it | May 2026 IPCN annual inflation of 2.3% pushed the six-month average above the 1,038.79-point threshold | STATEC, 2026-05-29 |
| How the mechanism works | When the six-month average of the national CPI moves 2.5%, indexed salaries, wages, pensions and social benefits are adjusted by the same 2.5%. It is automatic; no claim is needed. | Guichet.lu, 2026-06-01 |
Expected — not confirmed
- Next tranche expected: Second quarter of 2027
- STATEC's central scenario (short conflict, Strait of Hormuz reopening). If the conflict is prolonged, STATEC says an additional tranche could be triggered as early as the third quarter of 2026.

Method, fields and reuse
Every value on this page is transcribed from the primary source named beside it, on the date shown in “last read”. Nothing is derived, projected forward, or taken from secondary coverage — a retired second-hand summary outliving the publication it summarised is exactly how this topic previously went wrong on this site.
Confirmed means an official publication states it as having happened. Expected means a named body forecasts it and it has not happened; every forecast is shown with the scenario it depends on, because a forecast quoted without its condition becomes a false certainty.
The same values are published as CSV and JSON, with field definitions, provenance and version in the JSON. Reuse is licensed CC BY 4.0: attribute Étude and link to this page.
Limitations. This page tracks published official positions; it does not model the index itself or predict it independently. Between a triggering event and the next review it can be up to monthly out of date — the review date above is the honest bound, and the badge says so once it passes. Corrections are listed below rather than made silently; write to the newsroom if a value here is wrong.
Change history
Corrected. This page described the June 2026 tranche as a STATEC forecast that had not yet been confirmed, and its FAQ still gave the third quarter of 2026 as the expected date, citing a retired secondary report. Both were wrong by then: STATEC confirmed the tranche on 29 May 2026 and it took effect on 1 June 2026. The page now states the confirmed outcome, and the next-tranche forecast has been updated to STATEC's Note de conjoncture 1-26 (second quarter of 2027 in the central scenario).
Expected date moved from the third quarter of 2026 to June 2026, following STATEC's 12 May tripartite presentation.
